What an amazing start to 1C! We had such a great drop-off this afternoon, and afterward everyone jumped right into the day's opening activities. Campers took their cabin photos, completed their swim tests, and spent time getting to know their cabin mates and counselors. Dressed in their wackiest outfits, cabins headed to cookout, where we kicked off our first Coed session of the summer with hot dogs, plenty of toppings, and lots of dancing!

Our night got even more exciting when Dorothy, Scarecrow, and the Great and Powerful Oz made all of the junior counselors disappear! So that could only mean one thing...Counselor Hunt! Campers explored camp, searching high and low for their counselors while learning their way around and discovering where many of this week's activities will take place. After the hunt, everyone headed to the camp store for a well-earned treat. Campers chose between candy and ice cream, along with a drink, before spending time playing games, dancing with friends, and enjoying the evening.

To wrap up our first day together, campers gathered for our opening ceremony, where they met members of our staff, learned about Camp Cheerio's values and traditions, and prepared for an unforgettable week ahead during our opening-night vespers. We had such a wonderful first day of 1C and are so excited to see what this week holds!
