What an unforgettable day at camp! The summer heat was definitely in full force today, but that didn't stop our campers and staff from having an incredible time together. With plenty of water breaks, sunscreen, and camp spirit, everyone embraced the hot weather and enjoyed a day packed with fun and celebration.

Lunch hit the spot with crispy chicken tenders, onion rings, and delicious brownies for dessert. After an exciting afternoon of activities, campers gathered for a special Fourth of July cookout that quickly became a camp favorite. Dinner featured savory brisket sandwiches, hushpuppies, sweet corn on the cob, fresh salad, and a huge American flag cake that was as impressive as it was delicious!

The evening was dedicated to our FOJ celebration. Before the performances began, each porch proudly marched in a parade displaying a handmade Fourth of July-themed banner they had created together. The colorful banners showed off each porch's creativity and camp pride, setting the stage for a fantastic evening. Following the parade, each porch performed a Fourth of July-themed skit filled with creativity, laughter, and patriotic spirit. Every group brought something unique to the stage, making for an entertaining show that had the whole camp cheering.

The fun didn't stop there! Our staff took the stage to perform a reenactment of several important events from U.S. history. As the sun went down, everyone gathered together for the perfect grand finale—a spectacular fireworks show! The colorful display lit up the night sky and brought an amazing end to a day full of celebration, fun, and camp traditions. Although it was one of the hottest days of the summer, it was also one of the most memorable. From the banner parade and skits to the delicious cookout and fireworks under the stars, today was a celebration our campers will be talking about long after camp is over. Happy FOJ! 🇺🇸🎆
