We couldn’t have asked for a better start to 4C here at Camp Cheerio!

Spirits were high as we kicked things off with a singing parade down the road—a joyful tradition that welcomed our newest campers into the Cheerio family with lots of smiles and music. Once parents finished moving their campers into cabins, everyone settled in and got to know their new cabin mates. Cabin photos were taken, marking the start of what’s sure to be a memorable week together.

The afternoon was filled with activities designed to help campers feel at home: get-to-know-you games and a swim test gave everyone a chance to connect, explore, and dive into the rhythm of Cheerio life. Dinner brought a beloved camp classic—hot dogs and chips! It was the perfect fuel for the evening’s main event: Counselor Hunt! Energy buzzed throughout camp as cabins searched high and low for their missing senior counselors. Campers raced from field to forest in a spirited hunt, with cheers erupting every time someone was found.

We closed out the night in the gym with our Opening Ceremony and Vespers, a special time for reflection and a reminder of the values that make Camp Cheerio such a meaningful place for so many. 4C is already shaping up to be unforgettable—we can’t wait for all the adventures still to come!
