Friday 8/8

Friday

From the moment the French toast hit the plates this morning, you could tell it was going to be a great day. Campers began with a hearty breakfast of French toast, sausage, and fruit. After cabin cleanup, the real excitement kicked off: Predator Prey.

Following that high-energy game, cabins regrouped for some downtime before enjoying a classic outdoor cookout with burgers hot off the grill. The extended rest period that followed gave campers time to recharge before open activities began. Whether it was playing at the gaga pits, paddling, climbing, or just relaxing with friends, campers made the most of the sunny afternoon.

Campers changed into their nicest outfits for the evening program, starting with an amazing dinner of roast beef, mashed potatoes, and green beans—topped off with chocolate cake that disappeared quickly! Then we headed to the gym for a showcase of skits, dances, and tumbles. Campers pulled off some truly impressive performances that had the whole room laughing, clapping, and cheering.

Finally, we walked together to the lake for one of the most meaningful parts of our week: the closing ceremony. We honored first-year campers, those reaching milestone club achievements, and our cherished final-year campers. We celebrated our Honor Campers from each cabin, and named our Camp Honor Camper—recognizing the spirit, kindness, and leadership they showed all session long. Campers returned to the gym where we watched a slideshow recap of the week's events and fun! It was a great way to end a week at Camp Cheerio and we can't wait to see you again next year!
