3G: June 15th – June 21st

Today was another action-packed day here at Camp Cheerio, and we’re excited to share all the highlights with you! We started the morning with a tasty breakfast of cereal, yogurt, and warm cinnamon croissants—a sweet way to kick off the day! After breakfast, campers got to work during cabin clean-up, and we’re proud to announce our Honor Cabins for the day: Mohawk, Cherokee, Croatan, Hatteras, Arapahoe, and Wichita! Great job, campers!

The morning was full of energy as kids headed to their first two activities. From horseback riding and archery to skeet shooting and arts & crafts, there was something for everyone. Meanwhile, our adventurous canoeing crew set off on their trip right after breakfast. Lunch was a hit with meatball subs, crispy tater tots, and gooey blondies for dessert! After lunch, we had a restful break, just in time for a surprise visit from some rain and thunderstorms. But no worries—campers stayed cozy and safe indoors until the skies cleared. Once the sun peeked back out, it was back to the fun with afternoon activities!

Dinner was a delicious chicken stir fry with mini spring rolls and fortune cookies—a flavorful feast that had everyone smiling. Tonight’s evening program was one of our favorites: THRIVE! Campers were split into Red and Blue teams and competed in an epic battle of fun. They captured flags, searched for hidden watermelons in the woods, and launched water balloons at the opposing team’s queen! It was wild, wacky, and wonderful! We wrapped up the night in the gym with an energizer, staff skit, and song performance. Finally, we ended the day with a heartfelt Friendship Vespers, where we said goodbye to our amazing last-year campers. Though their time as campers is ending, they’ll always be part of the Cheerio Family.
