2C: July 13th – July 25th

Today was one of those classic Cheerio days—full of fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories. We kicked things off with a pancake breakfast to fuel our morning, followed by our daily cabin cleanup. Congratulations to Cherokee, Mohican, Choctaw. Once everything was tidy and shining, it was time to dive into our morning activities. Campers spread out across camp building skills and having a blast.

Lunch didn’t disappoint—chicken tenders, sweet peas, and chocolate brownies had everyone coming back for seconds. After that, we entered a well-earned extended rest period, giving everyone time to nap, read, write letters, or just recharge. The clouds finally parted in the afternoon, letting the sun shine through just in time for cabin time and more afternoon activities. Energy was high, and the camp felt alive with laughter and connection.

Dinner was a fan favorite—COOKOUT NIGHT! We loaded up on pork sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw, and chips, fueling up for one of the most exciting evening programs of the session: THRIVE. Campers dressed in either red or blue team colors and headed to the upper athletic field where the fun exploded—water balloon chaos, a fast-paced capture the flag, and an epic search through the woods for the hidden gem. Every moment was packed with teamwork, strategy, and wild joy.

After Thrive, we gathered in the gym for store time, a hilarious sibling challenge, and a surprise singing performance by one of our talented staff members! The cheers were loud and the smiles even louder. As the sun dipped below the mountains, we transitioned into a quieter, more meaningful moment—Friendship Vespers in the chapel. Our final-year campers reflected on their journey at Cheerio, shared heartfelt memories, and said their goodbyes. It was a beautiful, emotional close to an action-packed day.
