Today was another adventure-filled day here at Camp Cheerio!
We started off the morning with a simple and sweet breakfast of cereal and muffins, giving campers a light start to fuel up for the fun ahead. After breakfast, everyone headed back for cabin clean-up, and we’re thrilled to give a big shoutout to today’s Honor Cabins: Cherokee, Croatan, Apache, and Pawnee! Great job keeping your spaces neat and tidy!
Morning activities were buzzing with excitement as campers took on horseback riding, paddle sports, skeet shooting, athletics, and more. The energy across camp was sky-high as campers challenged themselves and cheered each other on. For lunch, we filled up on corn dogs and creamy mac and cheese, with sides of corn and a sweet slice of carrot cake to finish it off. Then it was time for a well-deserved rest period before diving back into afternoon activities.
Dinner tonight was a cozy classic: chicken pot pie with peas, followed by a delicious serving of strawberry shortcake that had everyone smiling! Just when campers thought the excitement was winding down, we kicked off the evening with a high-energy energizer before launching into our wildly fun evening program: DINO EGG HUNT! Campers split into teams and took off around camp in search of hidden dinosaurs, colorful eggs, and golden dino toys—each one earning them points toward victory. It was fast-paced, thrilling, and full of laughter as teams worked together to uncover all the prehistoric treasures.
We wrapped up the night with a light-hearted counselor skit and a peaceful acoustic guitar performance, setting the tone for our closing moment of the day—vespers. Tonight’s message centered on perseverance, encouraging campers to keep going, even when the road gets tough.
