3C: July 27th – August 2nd

This morning started off sweet—literally! Campers fueled up on warm cinnamon rolls and yogurt before jumping into their day. Some headed out for a peaceful canoe trip, while others dove into their morning activity periods, including rock climbing, racket sports, horseback riding, fishing and more. After breakfast came cabin cleanup, and we’re proud to announce today’s Honor Cabins: Apache, Shoshone, Arapahoe, Choctaw, Yavapai, Catawba, and Pawnee! Way to go, campers!

Lunch was a hearty helping of meatball subs with sweet potato fries—topped off with a slice of confetti cake that had everyone smiling. As a brief summer rain rolled through, we took an extended rest period to recharge for an exciting afternoon. The highlight of the day? Our last-year campers made the legendary trek to the mud pits—a rite of passage filled with laughter, slippery fun, and serious mess! Afterward, they took a well-earned dip in the lake to rinse off, much to the amazement (and amusement) of the rest of camp who watched them parade back through camp, head to toe in mud.

Dinner brought us together again with chicken Alfredo, steamed broccoli, breadsticks, and the always-welcome brownies for dessert. Then it was time to get silly—our Red vs. Blue team captains kicked off the night with a hilarious skit battle to launch our evening program: THRIVE! Campers changed into their team colors and hit the field for an epic water balloon capture-the-flag showdown, full of laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition. After the game, we cooled off with some treats from the camp store and enjoyed one final skit inside the gym.

To close out the day, we gathered for Friendship Vespers—a time of reflection, connection, and heartfelt words from our last-year campers about their time here at Cheerio.
