5C: August 10th – August 15th

Today was another adventure-filled day here at Camp Cheerio, packed with laughter, creativity, and classic camp fun!

We kicked off the morning with a sweet and simple breakfast—cinnamon rolls and cereal—which gave everyone the perfect boost of energy for a busy day ahead. After breakfast, campers headed back to their cabins for our daily clean-up challenge. A big round of applause goes to today’s Honor Cabins: Mohican, Hatteras, and Arapahoe—way to go on keeping things clean and cozy!

Morning activities were in full swing as campers climbed the rock wall, tumbled in the gym, played their hearts out in athletics, and so much more. With energy running high, lunch was a hit—crispy chicken tenders, onion rings, green peas, and a slice of pumpkin cake to top it all off. A light rain in the early afternoon gave us a perfect excuse to enjoy an extended rest period, but the fun picked right back up as soon as the skies cleared. Campers dove into afternoon favorites like basketball, gaga ball, arts and crafts, and more. The rain couldn’t dampen our spirits—in fact, it made the sunshine feel even sweeter!

As the evening approached, campers returned to their cabins to prepare for one of the week's most anticipated events: CHIDOL—our very own Cheerio Idol! But first, we fueled up at dinner with a classic cookout: pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, slaw, and chips made for the perfect meal under the setting sun.

After dinner and a quick trip to the camp store, we gathered in the Champ for the grand CHIDOL showcase. From hilarious skits to choreographed dances, every cabin brought their A-game in hopes of winning the coveted Golden Dragon. The creativity, teamwork, and spirit on display were truly inspiring. As the stars came out over Camp Cheerio, we wrapped up another unforgettable day—full of friendship, fun, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime.
