1G WEDNESDAY 06/04/25

1G: June 1st – June 6th

What a fantastic, action-packed day its been for our Cheerio campers! From sunrise to sunset, the energy was high and the smiles were nonstop. We kicked off the day with a hearty breakfast of pancakes and sausage—fuel for a full day of fun! Campers who signed up to go on the canoeing trip left for Cheerio on the New River right after breakfeast and had a great time! Lunch featured a camp favorite: corn dogs and mac and cheese, followed by a cheesy, delicious lasagna dinner. Huge shoutout to Martyn and our incredible kitchen staff for keeping us so well-fed and happy! Camp Cheerio wishes campers Josie from Apache and Charlie from Powhatan a Happy Birthday today!

Campers made the most of another beautiful day outdoors, diving into their activity rotations with even more confidence and excitement. We're so proud to see them stepping out of their comfort zones—whether that’s conquering the High Ropes course or taking the plunge down the big lake water slide!

At lunch, we celebrated our Honor Cabins of the day: Cherokee and Comanche! These cabins kept their spaces sparkling clean—congrats, campers! Can they take the title again tomorrow? We'll see!

After some well-earned rest, the afternoon was packed with even more adventures. Then came a surprise twist—royalty arrived to kick off our evening program: THRIVE! Campers were split into Red and Blue teams and let loose for a night of wild fun. Think water balloons, wild sprints, and a watermelon scavenger hunt through the woods! When the final scores were in, it was the Red Team who took home the victory for 1G Thrive once again!

To close the day, Seminole Cabin led a heartfelt vespers at the Blessing Chapel. We’re so grateful for days like these and the amazing campers who make this place so special.
