Ms. Gibbs took her 5th Course 2 and 4th grade Course 2 math classes outside for a fun experiment. The classes were finding the area of composite figures, for example, the basketball key, picnic tables, tether ball circles, and the half circles on the hop scotch board. The students had to measure the figures and calculate the areas using NO calculators, only a piece of chalk and the blacktop.
