After a wonderful opening day, moving campers in, and getting settled, campers posed for their cabin photos and took the swim test. Following the swim test, campers spent some time in their cabin getting to know each other, and then we kicked the summer off with a classic... cookout and hotdogs! We dressed very wacky tacky followed by dancing and energizers! However, dinner took a wild turn when Dorothy, Scarecrow, and the Great and Powerful Oz made all of the junior counselors disappear! So that could have only meant one thing... Counselor Hunt!!

Campers spent the evening hunting down their counselor by walking around camp and getting the lay of the land. As the sun disappeared behind the mountain, we headed back into the gym for store, where campers could pick one candy or ice cream, and a soda or water to snack on. They played gaga ball and nine score outside while enjoying their store and the beautiful weather camp brought us tonight! As we headed back into the gym for some staff skits, and going over camp rules, the winner of Counselor Hunt was revealed... shout out Cheyenne, Pawnee, and Catawba for taking the win!! We ended our night by heading to the Vespers area to talk about our camp values. Everyone is so excited for the rest of the session and can't wait to see what 1G brings!
