Despite the raindrops falling from the sky, today marked the exciting beginning of another unforgettable summer at camp! Parents arrived throughout the afternoon to drop off their campers, and while we had to skip our traditional welcoming parade due to the weather, the energy and enthusiasm were undampened!

Once everyone was settled in their cabins, we kicked off the evening with a classic camp cookout. Hot dogs, chili, and chips, there's nothing quite like sharing a meal together on the first night of camp. We had our evening festivities indoors in the gym, where campers got to shake off the travel day with some fun energizers that had everyone moving, cheering, and smiling. Afterward, it was time for a fan favorite: Counselor Hunt! Staff and counselors were scattered throughout the camp in disguise, and campers searched all around to track them down!!

Before heading back to cabins, campers had a chance to go to store for a treat or two, followed by a peaceful time of reflection during evening vespers. It was a calm and meaningful way to end a full and joyful first day. The rain may have changed our plans, but it couldn't stop the fun from beginning.
