THURSDAY

What a day at Cheerio New River!  The summer storms rolled in and out throughout the day, but our campers didn’t let a little rain slow them down! Starting the day with some French toast sticks and sausage from our fabulous kitchen crew was the perfect jump start before heading back to cabins to make sure they were spick and span.

Campers hit the trails on their mountain bikes while others grabbed paddles for some friendly competition on the pickleball courts. Our river crew took advantage of every break in the weather to cool off and enjoy a refreshing float on the New River and friendly competitions on who could find the perfect skipping rock. Today's top skips was fourteen to beat!

And, of course, camp wouldn’t be complete without a little friendly cabin competition! Pine Mountain earned the Honor Llama for the day, showing off their teamwork and keeping their cabin looking its best. Meanwhile, Mount Rogers claimed the Dirty Duck for cabin cleanup. There’s always tomorrow to turn things around!

Even with the summer storms popping up throughout the day, our campers embraced every moment. Campers and staff rounded out this summer day with a movie night in the gym. I don't want to give too much details away about the days so your campers have something to chat about on the ride home. Hard to believe that Friday is already here. Bring on another day of camp fun!
