In Ms. Moeller's class, third graders took on the task of creating an underground world for their science class. "The 3rd graders have been learning about types of caves and caves formations," said Moeller. "The students learned about drawings that may be found in caves from prehistoric times and how and why they were drawn. The students were able to create their own “cave drawing" of something that is important or symbolic to them." Students crawled under their desks with flashlights, black paper, chalk, and let their imaginations run wild. Sicence at Nysmith is important as it is a vital part of the STEM education.
