After being given operation and safety instructions, 8th grade Maker Lab students had the opportunity to work with power tools on their PVC Whistle project. This is additionally challenging because they are drilling onto a curved and slippery PVC surface. The students had to calculate the size of the different holes sizes which are dependent pipe length and bore diameter. They also had a chance to use a Dremel tool to cut the PVC pipe to allow proper airflow for the Windway and to make the Blade. #WhyNysmith #LearningisFUN #STEMeducation
